hanaa .. of course I couldn’t miss this .. even when I’m making my own condensed milk .. or maybe I can try your recipe of the dulce de leche .. that seems a whole lot easier than making condensed milk .. we’ll see tonight .. i think i’m so hooked into this bake-through that as soon I finish a cake, i’ll be thinking about the next one .. addicted! and so are you …

Please please please don’t skip this week. And I’m not just saying that because I’m guest host this week and picked this recipe. Tres Leches cake is sooooooo good (I’ve used a different recipe many times and it’s awesome). I’m Rose’s version will be just as good. I’ve made the milk mixture with sweetened condensed milk as well as Dulce de Leche, which is caramelized sweetened condensed milk. Both are awesome. Here’s how you make Dulce de Leche from scratch (I’ve done that before and it’s great): http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/dulce-de-leche-recipe/index.html. I highly recommend you try this one.

faithy … *hugs* .. thanks heaps for the link .. it didn’t occur to me to make my own .. duh! i think i’ll definitely give it a go .. it seems real easy too .. getting the skimmed milk powder could be tricky though ..

and nicola .. you’re just so sweet to offer to post me one .. but I can tell you the postage will be more pricey than the tin’s price .. but I think I’ll save me more heartache and make my own .. yay! will tell you guys how it goes ..

LOL! I totally understand how it is like to bring kids to the dentists! Not to worry though.. My kids had cavities when they were little and had to do ‘root canal’?!!? It was terrible! But now all grown up they have quite good teeth..

No condense milk? Strange..
