Ideally, I would be writing about cookies, posting pictures of decorated cookies, ooh-ing and ahh-ing.
But nope.
Not this morning. I’m just gonna yak about the weekend of nothing by binge-ing on food and more food.
In my defense, it’s the last weekend for Syawal, the celebration month in Islam and it’s the last call for folks to hold open houses and next weekend, we all go back to cooking lunches and normal sunday lunches again.
So, Saturday, we had 2 open houses and funnily enough my first Laksa Johor this year. I didn’t have any the whole month, neither did people make them anymore. Funny! Then we hopped over to Mosh’s open house and Athyra’s birthday bash. My girls were holed up on Athyra’s big sister Alyssa’s room throughout the 2 hours we were there with their girlfriends and mummy and daddy had a blast cathing up with friends and food.
Sunday, was a bigger binge-ful day. The Bukit Jelutong masjid held an Open House and from experience, food would bejust excellent!
We had a table for the 3 hours and hardly moved, except to get more food. Haha. I think I had about 5 bowls of sweet cendol, a plate of the most scrumptious kuey tiow goreng and many many sticks of truly tender chicken and beef satay.
My twin, Nobita baked baked macaroni the way my mom would and although we kinda gate-crashed her house, we had a tupperware for dinner.
So there. I am guilty.
